ERROR Page 17, top of first column “Hypacoi, in Tone VIII” should read “Hypacoi, in Tone IV”

TYPO Page 192, middle of the first column “Bend thy bow, and proceed prosperously” should read “Bend Thy bow, and proceed prosperously”

ERROR p. 219, middle of the first column and bottom of the second column Since both Ode I and Ode III of the Canon of the Forefeast have only three troparia, the notation “twice” should be added after the first troparion of each of these odes. Unfortunately, this notation is also missing from the Slavonic Pentecostarion; but this must be considered to be an omission since the same notation is found therein in Ode V and Ode VI (cf. pp. 221 and 222).

ERROR p. 240, middle of second column “Thou was born” should read “Thou wast born”

ERROR p. 245, second column, the Gospel reading should be “John 14:10-21” with the addition of the words of v. 21, “He that hath My commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth Me: and he that loveth Me shall be loved of My Father, and I will love him, and will manifest Myself to him.”

ERROR p. 289, bottom of second column The Stichos, “Turn Thy face away from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities” should read “Cast me not away from Thy presence, and take not Thy Holy Spirit from me.”

POOR TRANSLATION p. 290, top of first column “Then, as a torment, was silence abolished; now, agreement of tongues is restored” should read “Then, as punishment, discord was established; now, concord is restored” [Cf., the Slavonic: тогда̀ ѹ҆праздни́сѧ безгла́сїе къ мꙋче́нїю. According to Dyachenko, безгласїе means “отсутствие разных языков”. But this is clearly wrong, as безгласїе

is used in a number of other instances to mean silence. In fact, the Greek original is Τότε κατειργάσθη ἡ ἀφωνία. By analogy with 2 Cor 12:12, τοῦ ἀποστόλου κατειργάσθη ἐν ὑμῖν , this should be translated as “discord was established (or wrought)”]

ERROR p. 290, bottom of first column “homily 50: ‘On the following day…,’ in two parts” should read “Homily 51: ‘In the last day…,’ in two parts”

ERROR p. 302, middle of first column The words “whatsoever one asketh in Thy name, he will freely receive form Thee, the eternal God and Father” should read “whatsoever one asketh in Thy name, he will freely receive from Thy coeternal God and Father”. [Thus based on the Greek, συναϊδίος. But the Slavonic has присносꙋ́щный

. The textual history of this needs to be investigated.
